The Knowledge Hub for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology in Eastern Africa (KHEA) Project has played a key role in transforming smallholder farming across Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Madagascar and Uganda. Through various interventions, farmers have adopted innovative technologies, approaches, and solutions that contribute to sustainable agriculture and improved livelihoods.
The Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (KCOA-KHEA) in Africa Project aims to integrate Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) into national agricultural systems, supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This booklet highlights the key achievements of Phase I (August 2019 – June 2022) and Phase II (June 2022-January 2025), showcasing impactful interventions that have driven progress in organic farming. It is structured into three main sections, each focusing on the innovations, approaches, and technologies implemented with the support of Master Trainers, Multipliers, and Country Implementing Partners.
