We are thrilled to announce that Rosinah Mbenya, Country Coordinator of PELUM Kenya, a Country Implementing Partner (CIP) of the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture and Agroecology (KCOA) in Africa Project under the Eastern Africa Hub, has been appointed as a World Board Member of IFOAM \u2013 Organics International. This appointment marks a significant milestone, not only for Rosinah but also for PELUM Kenya and the entire KCOA-KHEA initiative, reinforcing our presence on the global organic agriculture stage.<\/p>

Strengthening African Representation<\/strong><\/p>

IFOAM \u2013 Organics International, an international partner of the KCOA project incharge of capacity building on the KCOA Project for all hubs, is dedicated to ensuring inclusive leadership that reflects the voices and experiences of the global organic movement. Following the recent World Board elections, the need to enhance African representation became evident, given the continent\u2019s vital role in food security, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture. To address this, the World Board exercised its prerogative to co-opt an additional leader, selecting Rosinah Mbenya from among six strong African nominees.<\/p>

Impact on the KCOA-KHEA Project<\/strong><\/p>

Rosinah\u2019s new role offers a unique opportunity to amplify the work of KCOA-KHEA project on an international platform. With her leadership at the World Board, she will help shape global strategies that resonate with the realities of organic farmers, practitioners, and policymakers in Africa. This milestone positions KHEA and the broader KCOA project on the global map, elevating the visibility of organic agriculture in Eastern Africa and beyond.<\/p>
